Recently, Dr. Xiao Jiefu, President of I-Shou University (ISU) and his party, including Mr. Wei Yongzhong , Dean of Student Affairs and Mr. Hong Zhixun, Deputy Director of International and Cross-Strait Affairs, visited Ningde Normal University (NNU) to sign an agreement on cooperation in education. Mr. Jiang Xiaoyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Prof. Lin Yuexin, President of NNU, Pro. Xie Xiangdong, Vice-President of NNU and Pro. Chen Jichuan, Director of Academic Affairs Bureau met with the guests and attended the signing ceremony.
Witnessed by the two parties, President Lin Yuexin and President Xiao Jiefu from ISU jointly signedCooperative Education Agreement between Ningde Normal University and I-Shou University, which is a new breakthrough in university-running after the signing ofAcademic Cooperation and Exchange Agreement between Ningde Normal University and I-Shou University, Memorandum of Learning and Research in I-Shou University for Students from Ningde Normal Universityand some other collaborative agreements between the two universities in 2014.
President Lin Yuexin pointed out that NNU is striving to improve its university-running quality while at the same time actively expanding cooperation with other universities, and now has already established cooperative relationship with National Pingtung University (NPTU) and I-Shou University, which has laid the foundation of academic cooperation and exchange with universities in Taiwan, New Zealand and other countries and regions. Based on “3+1 Programs between Fujian and Taiwan”, the two sides will follow the win-win strategy and jointly formulate talents training schemes, curriculums, syllabuses and teaching plans to cultivate applied talents together.
It is known that I-Shou University has been insisting on the goal of running the university by “Excellent Teaching, Featured Research, Excellent Service, International Connections” and aims to nurture students to become applied and innovative professionals who have good manners, behave with integrity, and always show their dynamism. So far, the three colleges of I-Shou University: College of Management (COM), International College(IC) and College of Tourism and Hospitality (COTH) have earned the AACSB accreditation. In 2014, as one of the top 100 Worldwide Universities, ISU was granted a U.S. patent released by National Academy of Inventors. And inThe Times Higher EducationWorld University Rankings 2015, ISU was rated among the world’s top 800 universities.
